About John Overholser
I live with my wife and two boys in West Virginia. We have a daughter on the way. I enjoy working with the Top To Bottom family so much that I make the long commute every day. Meeting so many different people and seeing so many different homes is what intrigues me about being an inspector. I never feel like “I’ve seen it all” since I make new discoveries all the time. It keeps me on my toes! I am also a big fan of inspecting historic and log homes.
I started inspecting under my own company in 2011, but I have been working with TTBS since 2013, and I am now the Ancillary Services Manager. I have inspected thousands of homes in MD, VA, DC, and WV. I am NRPP certified as a radon measurement specialist and run the TTBS certified radon lab. I am accredited as a Maryland Lead Risk Assessor and a certified water sampler. I have also been certified in Mold, Indoor Air Quality, and Infrared. In 2017, I was given an appreciation award from Top To Bottom Services for my service and dedication to the company and its values.
I enjoy growing my marine aquarium and corals, and I also enjoy making smoked meats and BBQ. I host the annual TTBS BBQ and cook more than 50 lbs. of meat for the occasion in my three smokers. Although I have a large stature being 6’5” tall, I am known by many agents to be the guy that can get into almost any space. I have lived in 7 different states all the way from California to Maryland. My family includes a small flock of chickens which have names and give us nearly 5 eggs a day.
